A Fellow Traveller Writes
In Abu Dhabi I decided to put the self-discovery on hold, spend time with friends and concentrate on the business. I don't need much, but a few extra dollars in the pocket are useful. That is why it has been quiet here.
Some things have accumulated in the meantime. This, for instance, arrived last March, signed A fellow traveller. He stayed anonymous. I recognise the way he writes.
„Wonderful. Running away from your problems again. Susi will probably never be put away properly and will rot in some garage. Don't forget to take the plates off. Why not put your foot down and face your problems instead? Flying? Ecologically marvellous too. How does that fit into the great self-discovery blog? And all of this is called listening to your gut? The same patterns and the same excuses as always. As long as there's a reason, or a person to blame. I wonder how it's all financed, and when the patrons stop paying.“
What I wrote back was that we live differently. He cares about money, status and standing. I care about good relationships, owning little, and the part that can't be counted.
I could have written more. I have been writing back to that voice, in one form or another, my whole life.
He is right about one thing, though I doubt he meant it kindly: I did keep going instead of staying to fight.
It turned out to be the correct decision.
