Go All the Way

Once you have decided to try, go all the way.

Some evenings that is lonely. Then your neighbour knocks on the door because it has occurred to her that you might like something to eat. This happens in Georgia, and it happens particularly at Easter.

On that day mine arrives with cake, salad, lunch and wine. She knows I am alone at night with my fears and my gods and my demons, because I decided to try.

Going all the way can cost you the woman, the family, the job, and on certain nights it feels like it might cost you your mind.

Everything is a test of how much you actually want it.

And then somebody knocks with a plate.
